Danish King Frederik X inaugurated the first part of the 18-km Fehmarn tunnel linking Denmark to Germany, set to open in 2029.
Danish King Frederik X inaugurated the first element of a future 18-km rail-and-road tunnel under the Baltic Sea, linking Denmark to Germany. The Fehmarn link, expected to open in 2029, will cut travel time from the current 45-minute ferry crossing and connect to central Europe and Nordic countries. This project is part of the transport sector's green transition.
