Canada approves world's first weekly insulin injection, Insulin Icodec (Awiqli), for Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes patients.

Starting June 30, Canadians with diabetes will have access to a once-a-week insulin injection, Insulin Icodec, making it the world's first weekly insulin injection. Sold under the brand name Awiqli, the product has been approved by Health Canada for the treatment of adults with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes. Canada is the first country to receive this innovative product, which has been developed by drug manufacturer Novo Nordisk.
