19-year-old Kenyan teen sensation Emmanuel Wanyonyi set a new personal record of 1:41.70 in the 800 meters, making him the third-fastest man ever in the event and qualifying him for the Paris Olympics. Wanyonyi's performance came just a day after he nearly failed to qualify for the finals after being tripped and falling during Friday's semifinals. Meanwhile, Kenya's fastest man, Ferdinand Omanyala, booked his spot at the Paris Olympics with a world-leading time of 9.79 seconds at the Kenyan national trials.
