22-year-old baristas Ella and Lucy were fired from Black Star Pastry in Chadstone Shopping Centre after wearing keffiyehs to work in support of Palestine. The duo regularly attended Sunday rallies for Palestine during the war in Gaza, and their support for the cause became an integral part of their identity. The shop dismissed them the following day after they wore the traditional Palestinian scarves to work.
