A small plane crash-landed in the Androscoggin River in Topsham on Sunday after the pilot reported mechanical issues; the pilot successfully exited the submerged plane, was aided by two kayakers, and received non-life-threatening injuries. Topsham Fire & Rescue, Topsham Police Department, Lisbon and Brunswick fire departments, and Maine Warden Service assisted in the response. The Maine Department of Environmental Protection and Federal Aviation Administration have been notified of the crash.
