New research suggests that some scientists now believe animals are conscious beings. Traditionally, attributing consciousness to animals has been seen as scientific heresy due to lack of testing methods and projection of human traits onto animals. However, recent evidence of animals' abilities to feel and process their surroundings, like bees recognizing human faces and learning tasks, has led some to reconsider their stance on animal consciousness.
