CLSA, a capital markets and investment group, reports that Indian banks have improved their positions with strong balance sheets, low non-performing assets (NPAs), and higher profits. Balance sheets are stronger than in over a decade, and profits have quadrupled in 10 years. The return on equity for the Indian banking sector is at its highest since 2011, and deposit growth is expected to align with accelerated loan growth.
