India to launch deep-sea mission with Matsyayaan 6000, becoming 6th country to do so.

Union Earth Sciences Minister Jitendra Singh announced that India is set to become the sixth country to have its own deep-sea mission. He expressed pride and happiness on the progress of the deep-sea mission, which will not only focus on mineral exploration but also the development of ocean sciences, exploration of flora and fauna, and conservation of marine biodiversity. The National Institute of Ocean Technology's Matsyayaan 6000, capable of diving 6,000 meters deep into the ocean, is part of these efforts.
