BNP Paribas and KEXIM sever ties with Santos' $5.8bn Barossa gas project in the Timor Sea.

Major financial institutions BNP Paribas and The Export-Import Bank of Korea (KEXIM) have cut ties with Santos' $5.8bn Barossa gas project in the Timor Sea. BNP Paribas is no longer acting as a financial adviser for the energy giant, while KEXIM has not renewed its loans to SK E&S, Santos' South Korean partner's oil and gas subsidiary. Activist groups hope this move will pressure Australia's big four banks to follow suit.
