Assam CM ends VIP culture, ministers, officials to pay own electricity bills from July 1.

Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that from July 1, all ministers and government officials will be responsible for paying their own electricity bills, ending the 'VIP culture'. The Chief Minister and Chief Secretary will start paying their power bills from the mentioned date, with a broader effort to conserve energy already implemented in 8,000 government offices across the state.
