Affordable home sales in India's top cities decreased 4% in Q1 2023 to 61,121 units due to lower supply and demand for luxury apartments.

Sales of affordable homes in India's top eight cities (Delhi-NCR, Mumbai Metropolitan Region, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Pune, and Ahmedabad) decreased by 4% in Q1 2023, reaching 61,121 units, according to PropEquity. This decline is due to lower supply and increased demand for luxury apartments. The fresh supply of affordable homes fell from 53,818 units in 2022 to 33,420 units in Q1 2023.
