700-acre Trout Creek Fire burns in grass, brush, and juniper north of Madras, Oregon; firefighting resources deployed.
A new wildfire, Trout Creek Fire, has burned 700 acres north of Madras, near Willowdale, Oregon. The fire started on Bureau of Land Management land and is burning in grass, brush, and juniper. Five engines, a hotshot crew, a helicopter, three air tankers, and other resources have been used to contain the fire, with firefighters remaining overnight. Smoke may be visible from Madras, Highway 97, and surrounding areas.
