88-year-old Tony Mordente Jr., a cast member in the original West Side Story film and Broadway production, has passed away. Mordente, who was also a choreographer and director, died in Henderson, Nevada, on June 11. He was married to Chita Rivera, another original West Side Story cast member, who died in January at the age of 91. Mordente and Rivera met on the set of West Side Story on Broadway and married in 1957.
