39-year-old Manx cyclist Mark Cavendish has been awarded a knighthood in King Charles' Birthday Honours. The prestigious accolade recognizes Cavendish's outstanding contribution to cycling, his charity work, and his efforts as a sporting ambassador for the UK and the Isle of Man. This makes Cavendish the first person from the Isle of Man to be knighted since comedian Sir Norman Wisdom 24 years ago.
