Beaumont man Jody Lee Bass, 34, faces federal charges for carjacking and assaulting a USPS mail carrier in the Eastern District of Texas. On June 8, Bass allegedly used a knife to steal the victim's mail truck during a delivery route. If convicted, he faces up to 35 years in federal prison. The case is being prosecuted by the Eastern District of Texas' Carjacking Task Force.
