13-year-old dies, another injured in Bronx subway surfing incidents. A 13-year-old boy died after subway surfing at the Middletown Road station, while a 15-year-old was critically injured in a separate incident. This year, there have been 104 surfing incidents with two fatalities, five injuries, and 99 arrests. MTA and NYPD have launched safety awareness campaigns and drone usage to deter such incidents.
