US Supreme Court overturns Trump-era bump-stock ban, ruling it conflicts with machinegun definition.

The US Supreme Court has ruled 6-3 that the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives' (ATF) unilateral bump-stock ban conflicts with the federal statute defining "machineguns". The Court found that a semiautomatic rifle with a bump stock is not an illegal machine gun as it doesn't fire more than one shot with a single pull of the trigger. This decision overturns a Trump-era ban on bump stocks, which were used in the 2017 Las Vegas mass shooting.
