Thorpe Park's "fastest and tallest" rollercoaster, Hyperia, left thrill-seekers stranded at the top due to an unforeseen issue. The rollercoaster, which only opened last month, was shut down less than 24 hours after its debut and had to be closed again today as riders remained stuck at the peak. The surrounding area was evacuated as staff and experts worked to free those trapped on the popular attraction.
