Taiwan's MOFA claims China's new Coast Guard regulations violate international law, disrupt regional peace, and disregard UNCLOS.

Taiwan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) said that China's new Coast Guard regulations, which allow boarding of vessels and detaining foreign citizens accused of trespassing, violate international law and regional peace. MOFA stated that the new law will cause regional tensions, impact commercial shipping and fishing activities, and shows China's lack of respect for relevant international laws, including UNCLOS.
