Russian President Putin proposes ceasefire and peace talks if Ukraine withdraws troops from occupied regions and abandons NATO plans.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that Russia would call a ceasefire and enter peace talks if Ukraine withdrew its troops from four regions occupied by Russian forces and gave up plans to join NATO. Putin made the statement on the eve of a peace conference in Switzerland, which Russia has not been invited to. The conditions set by Putin are at odds with Ukraine's demands for Russia's full withdrawal from internationally recognised territory.
