14 new emergency medical responders graduating from Nova Scotia's inaugural program will help paramedics provide better care and reduce wait times. The responders can stabilize and transport patients to hospitals alongside paramedics, and work in teams of two in emergency offload areas to transfer low-risk patients. This first batch will join ambulance crews soon, and a second class is expected to graduate in August.
