M'Chigeeng First Nation standoff with armed suspect ends peacefully with suspect's arrest.
In M'Chigeeng First Nation on Manitoulin Island, a standoff with an armed suspect at a residence has ended peacefully, with the suspect safely arrested. A standoff began after an altercation involving a weapon earlier in the morning. Police warned the public to stay away from the area while they negotiated with the suspect. The UCCM Anishnaabe Police Service and the Ontario Provincial Police thanked the public for their cooperation and patience.
