LA City Council removes "No U-Turn" signs in Silver Lake amid claims they were installed to target LGBT community.

Los Angeles City Council has removed several "No U-Turn" traffic signs in Silver Lake, California, after claims they were installed in 1997 to target and persecute members of the LGBT community. The councilmember explained that gay men reportedly used cruising to meet, flirt, and take party drugs with one another. The signs were taken down in response to community leaders and local LGBTQ+ leaders who were present during the removal.
