Holidaymakers travelling to France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, and Madeira are warned to watch for symptoms of 'bone break fever', also known as Dengue fever, as cases have risen sharply. Dengue is a mosquito-borne illness, currently not found in the UK, that can cause flu-like symptoms. The disease has doubled in the European Union and European Economic Area last year compared to the previous year.
