Governor DeSantis signed HB 1021 into law, aiming to increase condo association accountability, but causing concern over developer control of common areas.
Gov. Ron DeSantis signed a condominium bill, HB 1021, into law, which aims to increase accountability for condominium homeowner associations and managers. The bill, however, includes provisions that give developers more control over common areas in mixed-use buildings, leading unit owners to threaten legal action unless these provisions are amended in the next legislative session. The bill is set to take effect on July 1st.
