EU's Single-Use Plastics Directive mandates tethering of all plastic bottle caps to bottles in Ireland, starting from July 3. This move targets 15% of packaging litter, particularly harmful to wildlife. Tethered caps have been implemented for containers bearing the Re-turn logo since June 1. The new regulation aims to reduce plastic waste, increase recycling and curb environmental pollution.
