Assam CM deploys 3 commando battalions, 600 forest personnel, and 20 boats to protect Kaziranga National Park wildlife during floods.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma deployed three commando battalions and 600 personnel from a new forest battalion in Kaziranga National Park, to protect wildlife during the flood season amidst land loss due to swift river water flow. A joint task force will study the phenomena and recommend remedial steps. 20 marine engine boats will aid the forest department in intensifying vigil in and around the park to thwart poacher movements.
