45-year-old Cork woman, Patricia Kelly, who never regained consciousness after neck surgery at Cork University Hospital, had her family's High Court action over her death settled for €400,000. The mother of one, who had been in a coma for 22 months, was determined to be brain-damaged, and liability was fully contested in the case. The settlement was reached after mediation.
