Miss Maryland, Bailey Anne Kennedy, makes history as the first Asian American, married woman, and transgender woman to win the Miss Maryland USA title. This year marks the first time married women can compete in the Miss USA pageant, and Kennedy, a military wife, became the first transgender woman to win the title in its 10-year history of allowing transgender women to participate. This year was also her first time competing in a pageant.
