WestRock shareholders have approved the merger with Smurfit Kappa, creating the world's largest cardboard box maker with a combined value of $34 billion. The merger agreement will see Smurfit Kappa acquired by Smurfit WestRock, with WestRock's subsidiary Sun Merger Sub, LLC merging with WestRock. Shareholders will receive one share of Smurfit WestRock and $5 in cash for each share of WestRock they hold upon completion of the merger.
