Senegal's newly elected President, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, has introduced measures to reduce the price of rice, oil, bread, and other essential items to address cost-of-living concerns, high unemployment, and inflation. The government plans to lower the price of a kilo of rice by 40 CFA and a baguette by 15 CFA, while also reducing prices for cement and fertilizer. The reductions will take effect in the coming days.
