Scottish sub-postmasters wrongly convicted in the Horizon scandal are automatically exonerated as the Post Office (Horizon System) Offences (Scotland) Act came into force on Friday. All sub-postmasters convicted as part of the scandal in Scotland will have their convictions quashed, with eligibility for compensation. The law covers those convicted of embezzlement, fraud, theft, uttering, or related offences between Sept. 23, 1996, and Dec. 31, 2018.
