MGM+ orders an eight-episode series adaptation of Stephen King's 2019 novel "The Institute". Ben Barnes ("Shadow and Bone") and Mary-Louise Parker ("Weeds") will lead the cast. The series, set in a facility where children with unusual abilities are kidnapped, will be directed by Jack Bender and written by Benjamin Cavell, both of whom have previously worked on King adaptations. Production is set to begin in Nova Scotia later this year.
