Marshall University's Memorial Fountain nominated for National Register of Historic Places.

Marshall University's Memorial Fountain, honoring the 75 lives lost in a 1970 plane crash, has been nominated by the West Virginia Archives and History Commission to be added to the National Register of Historic Places. If approved, the fountain would receive enhanced protection, maintenance, and opportunities for grant funding to support its preservation. The nomination now moves to the National Park Service for review.
