2 Japanese climbers went missing while attempting to summit Spantik Peak in Pakistan; their condition and exact location remain unknown.

Two Japanese climbers, Ryuseki Hiraoka and Atsushi Taguchi, went missing while attempting to summit 7,027-meter Spantik Peak (Golden Peak) in Gilgit Baltistan, Pakistan. Army helicopters spotted traces of the climbers but their condition and exact location remain unknown. The climbers were using the Alpine style of climbing, which involves minimal gear and no fixed camps.
