Japan begins deep-sea search for crashed MSDF helicopters in July. The Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology (JAMSTEC) will use an unmanned deep-sea vehicle and Deep Tow, a deep ocean floor survey system equipped with sonar and cameras, to locate the two SH-60K helicopters that crashed during a night drill on April 20, near Izu Islands. Seven crew members were declared dead by the defense ministry.
