India to auction 62 coal blocks in the 10th round of commercial coal block auctions, aligning with PM Modi's energy independence vision by 2047.

India plans to auction 62 coal blocks next week under the 10th round of commercial coal block auctions with no end-use restrictions. The initiative aligns with PM Narendra Modi's vision for energy independence by 2047 and promoting self-reliance (Atma-Nirbharta) in the coal sector. Since the auctions' launch in June 2020, 107 coal blocks have been sold with a 256 million tonnes peak rated capacity.
