A Federal High Court in Kano has ordered the Kano State government to pay deposed Emir Aminu Ado-Bayero N10 million in damages for violating his fundamental human rights. The court found that Governor Abba Kabir-Yusuf's order to arrest the 15th Emir without any lawful justification breached his fundamental right to freedom of movement. The judge also ordered the relevant authorities to refrain from further interfering with Aminu Bayero's fundamental rights.
