Ecologist Rosie Moore, known as the "world's hottest scientist," revealed on Instagram her diagnosis of dengue fever, a potentially deadly mosquito-borne disease, which she contracted during a research trip in South America. Dengue fever manifests in flu-like symptoms and, although rare, can cause fatal complications. Moore discovered bug bites early in her trip but only started feeling unwell a few days later.
