A black bear was spotted on the University of Florida's campus near the Genetics Institute on Thursday morning, prompting a response from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. The bear was believed to be a young adult and was observed in a shady spot in a tree. There were no reported injuries, and students were kept 75 feet away from the bear. The Commission sent an agent to monitor the situation.
