Afghanistan plans to build a new dam in the national capital, Kabul, to address its power shortage. The Sarobi district dam project, discussed by the economic commission, will be built in two phases, with an initial production capacity of 111 megawatts. Afghanistan currently requires 850 megawatts of electricity annually, with 620 megawatts imported from neighboring countries and 230 megawatts supplied domestically.
