Zimbabwe's ferrochrome miners, the nation's largest electricity consumers, have agreed to build their own power plants over the next two years. They will pay electricity tariffs half the rate charged to other mining companies. The deal is part of the government's strategy to balance energy demand and move towards green energy solutions. Ferrochrome producers, including the country's largest, Zimasco, aim to produce 300 MW by 2026.
