23-year-old Norwegian athlete and Olympic champion Jakob Ingebrigtsen won the 1,500 meters race at the European Championships in Rome, securing his record sixth gold medal. He finished in 3:31.95, breaking the championship record. Belgian Jochem Vermeulen and Italian Pietro Arese came in second and third place, respectively. Ingebrigtsen is expected to compete against Briton Josh Kerr in the upcoming Paris Olympics.
