A 3,600-year-old Late Bronze Age purple dye workshop was discovered on the Greek island of Aegina, providing insights into the production of highly valued dyes and shedding light on culture and trade during the period. The site, at Aegina Kolonna in the Saronic Gulf, was identified through preserved purple pigment on ceramic fragments, dyeing tools, and crushed shells of marine snails used for the pigments.
