World Bank approves $250m credit and $10m grant for Ghana's 4-year Energy Sector Recovery Programme for Results (PforR). The programme aims to boost financial viability of electricity distribution and expand access to clean cooking solutions. High electricity distribution losses, caused by low collection rates and below-cost recovery tariffs, have impacted Ghana's energy sector's operational and financial performance, leading to an annual GDP allocation of 2% to cover sector deficits.
