Volkswagen and other automakers discuss with South Africa's state logistics company to revive a rail line between Gauteng and Gqeberha for vehicle transportation.

Volkswagen and other automakers, including Isuzu Motors, are in talks with South Africa's state logistics company to revive a deteriorated rail line between Gauteng province and the city of Gqeberha. The companies aim to hire a private operator to transport vehicles on the line, benefiting both car manufacturers with plants in Gauteng (like Ford and BMW) and those in Gqeberha. The rail line would provide an alternative to the congested terminal in Durban.
