US Secretary of State Blinken considers some of Hamas' proposed changes to a cease-fire plan workable, while regional tensions escalate after Hezbollah fires rockets into Israel.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said some of Hamas' proposed changes to a cease-fire plan in Gaza are workable and some not, as regional tensions escalate. The statement came as Lebanon's Hezbollah fired a massive barrage of rockets into northern Israel, following the killing of a top commander. The U.S. and other mediators will continue efforts to "close this deal", according to Blinken, in reference to the internationally-backed cease-fire proposal that has yet to be fully embraced by Israel or Hamas.
