The UN Security Council is set to vote on a British-drafted resolution demanding a halt to the siege of al-Fashir in Sudan's North Dafur region by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces. The draft resolution also calls for an immediate halt to fighting and de-escalation, as well as for the withdrawal of all fighters threatening civilians' safety and security. The vote is expected to occur on Thursday afternoon.
