Slovakia is bolstering politicians' security measures after an assassination attempt on Prime Minister Robert Fico. The government has approved a package of measures to enhance protection for leading politicians and others, including the possibility of banning protest rallies near politicians' homes and within 50 meters of the government and president's seat. The Interior Ministry will also identify and prepare long-term residences for the prime minister, president, and parliamentary speaker.
