Regina city council rejected a $7.5M permanent emergency shelter proposal at 1420 Albert Street due to concerns raised by local residents about its potential negative impacts on property values, crime, traffic, and drug activity. The council will continue searching for a more suitable location, after a three-year search through 35 properties. The current temporary shelter's lease expires in Summer 2025.
